    Answer: No, the light fast pigments used will not fade.

    Answer: Yes you can, use 2 to 3 tablespoons per builders bucket to start with, adjust to suit add more for stronger colour.

    Answer: I have not tried it but I have used it to colour existing concrete slabs and it works like a very strong Dye...lasts about two years in the sun...made some concrete paving slabs and colour works well...seems to be more yellow than buff...
  • Question: I'm looking for the best colour to get me a dark grey mortar for indoor red brickwork ?

    Answer: This listing is for the buff colour not black. You need the black one and only use a little of it.
  • Question: Can this be brushed onto existing mortar to stain?

    Answer: It is designed to be mixed in the mortar, it may stain existing but it wouldn't be very successful
  • Question: What colour is this item please..it says buff in description but black in picture.

    Answer: If the colour says buff on the tin then it will be buff inside. Think the picture just confuses everyone.
  • Question: Can you use this with lime mortar?

    Answer: No
  • Question: How much render mix does 1 kg colour?

    Answer: It states on the tube 'For light shades, add approx. 1kg of Mortar Tone per 50kg of cement. For medium shades, add approx. 2kg of Mortar Tone per 50kg of cement. For dark shades, add approx. 3 to 4 kg of Mortar Tone per 50 kg of cement.
  • Question: Can this be used for a sand and cement mix for grouting tiles on a step?

    Answer: Should be ok if there’s no lime in the mix
