Format: DVD Mystery & Thrillers Editorial Review
This review discusses the film "A Bittersweet Life." The reviewer praises the film for its combination of a great love story without romance and great action. The lead actor's performance is appealing and there is some violence that adds to the story. The film is well-made, and the reviewer argues that the Korean film industry is putting out better movies than Hollywood. The reviewer recommends that people check out this film and other Asian movies. Another reviewer praises the main character's portrayal, particularly his use of his eyes to convey emotion. The action is not deemed excessively violent, and it is pointed out that it appears more organic and plausible than American TV. However, one reviewer found the film unoriginal and with no character development. Overall it is portrayed as a good solid gangster drama with haunting themes.
