The bed is straightforward to assemble, and it took about 1.5 hours to assemble, with two people needed to lift the heavy pieces. The parts check each other, ensuring that all parts fit together well with no wobble. The height clearance from the floor to the bottom edge of the frame is 6-3/8", which is not sufficient for an Ikea Vardo underbed storage box, which is 7 1/8" high. The slats are 2.5 inches apart, and the headboard cannot be changed to another that is longer because the bedframe is designed so that the sides hook/screw into the headboard.
